Programme Outcomes (POs):

Students are able to: 

PO 1 Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals including Mechanical engineering for the solution of engineering problems especially mechanical engineering problems.

PO 2 Identify, formulate and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, science, and Mechanical engineering.

PO 3 Design solutions for Mechanical engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health, safety and environmental considerations.

PO 4 Conduct investigations of engineering problems for analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO 5 Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling to engineering activities and their limitations.

PO 6 Apply reasoning and the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety and cultural issues.

PO 7 Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of sustainable development.

PO 8 Understand ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the mechanical engineering practice.

PO 9 Work as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO 10 Express effectively on engineering activities in the engineering community and with the society at large. Students are able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO 11 Demonstrate understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO 12 Engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological changes.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):
PEO 1.To provide students with a sound mechanical engineering education, application of mechanical engineering principles, enhance economic development of the Nation.

PEO 2 Imparting quality education to the students and enhancing their skills to make them globally competitive mechanical engineers.

PEO 3 Maintaining vital, state-of-the-art research facilities to provide its students and faculty with opportunities to create, interpret, apply and disseminate knowledge.

PEO 4 To develop linkages with world class R&D organizations and educational institutions in India and abroad for excellence in teaching, research and consultancy practices.

PEO 5 Improve the Mechanical Engineering Department’s infrastructure to facilitate research productivity and success.
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs):

The Graduates are:

PSO 1 Should be able to clearly understand the concepts and applications in the field of Machine component design, advanced manufacturing techniques, thermal engineering.

PSO 2 Should be able to associate the learning from the courses related to Energy Conversion, Fluid Mechanics, Theory of Machines & Power plant engineering to arrive at solutions to real world problems

PSO 3 Should have the capability to comprehend the technological advancements in the usage of modern design tools to analyze and design subsystems/processes for a variety of applications.

PSO 4 Should posses the skills to communicate in both oral and written forms, the work already done and the future plans with necessary road maps, demonstrating the practice of professional ethics and the concerns for societal and environmental wellbeing.
